Kitji Kitji is the name for the kangaroo colloquially referred to as 'Euro'. This kangaroo lives in rocky environments. The Kitji Kitji Tjukurrpa is local to the area, which is how the place got its name. The site Kitji Kitji and Wutjulu are located close to one another. There are two important water sources, one rockhole at Kitji kitji and a soakage at Wutjulu. Katjarra's whole family used to travel around the Kitji Kitji area, they would come from the South and meet there. They would become one big group and hunt and collect bush tucker together. There is a strong Malu Tjukurrpa (Kangaroo crea?on) story a?ached to this site, however Katjarra did not want to speak about it. Either the story is too big to share publicly, or it is men’s business. She says 'The kangaroo travels from the North, through Lokarrpara to Kitji Kitji. That's all.'
